1 The Cliff

Seaside sophistication

Arguably Barbados's most famous restaurant, as well as one of its most upscale and exclusive, The Cliff is set right on the beachfront in St James, with all the tables offering stunning Caribbean views. Chef Matt Worswick, who earned his first Michelin star at the age of just 26, serves up an impressive menu of refined international cuisine, and there's also a sushi bar offering both traditional and modern dishes.

2 QP Bistro

Beachfront bistro

Set right on the beachfront at St James, QP Bistro fuses international dishes with Caribbean flavours, under the guidance of Culinary Director Matt Worswick, formerly of London's iconic Savoy Grill, and Executive Chef Athlone McCollin, a master of contemporary classical cuisine. The dinner menu includes bistro classics, as well as pizza, or you can indulge in a two- or three-course pre fixe lunch. Farm-to-table feasts

Seasonal, local produce is the order of the day at Speightstown's Local & Co, with the daily-changing menu determined by what the local farmers have available and what the chefs have gathered and preserved in-house through the seasons. Expect plenty of locally-caught seafood, as well as signature dishes such as rum-glazed pork belly, and vegetarians and vegans are well catered-for too. You can also pick up homemade jams, pickles and chutneys, flavoured salts, jerky and homemade kombucha at the marketplace.

Set right on the beach in the north of Speightstown, Baia offers a taste of Latin America in the heart of Barbados, with gorgeous views of the Caribbean.
