UXUA Casa Hotel & Spa is located in the centre of Trancoso, a fishing village on Brazil’s southern Bahian coast. It comprises 10 casas, created using traditional building methods and reclaimed materials, furnished with local antiques and artworks. With stunning design touches such as sinks and baths carved from fallen treetrunks, kitchen utensils carved by Bahian cowboys from coconut shells and a beach lounge built from old fishing boats, it's a spectacular location for a relaxing holiday

Spa

UXUA’s Almescar Spa is named for the local amsescar trees which provide the spa's signature ingredient, used for its restorative qualities and musky scent. Signature treatments include the Relaxing Almescar Oil Massage and Bahian Hot Stone Massage with Almescar Oil. UXUA is also home to Bahia’s first Vichy treatment suite, where you can relax and pamper yourself with a full-body mask.

Room Description

UXUA’s casas have one, two or three bedrooms, and include restored fishermen's houses, a luxurious treehouse and homes hidden away in the lush gardens. Each has a full kitchen, private garden, open-air bathroom, king-size bed, Wifi, and television with satellite channels, while some also have private plunge pools and Jacuzzis.

Activities

You could be forgiven for spending your whole stay lounging in the gardens or on the beach. UXUA’s unique pool is made from green aventurine quartz, a native Bahian stone, traditionally believed to have powerful healing qualities. If you fancy something more active, try beach volleyball, kayaking, cycling, horse-riding, kite-surfing or snorkelling, or take a class in capoeira, yoga or pilates. You can also tee off at the spectacular clifftop Terravsita golf course, 10 minutes from the hotel.

Dining

The restaurant here serves Bahian cuisine, made with produce from UXUA’s own garden and locally caught seafood. You can enjoy your meal at the poolside restaurant, the beach lounge, or in your own casa. UXUA's beach bar also serves Bahian specialties, alongside expertly mixed cocktails.
